Initial Thoughts on the Festival
Hi everyone! With festival season in full swing, thought I would do a little recap of my 4th Beyond Wonderland. Although we originally intended to go both days, we stuck with just Friday this time (which was so unusual for us but so worth it)! I can honestly say that this was my favorite Beyond to date and everything exceeded my expectations.
Beyond was held at the NOS Center in San Bernardino from March 22-23. We arrived early at around 5 to beat the crowds, look around, and catch a few sets. It’s safe to say that Insomniac spared no expense this year with the production in terms of the 6 stages, attractions, and decor! Getting in and out was pretty easy for us, but I wish the Mau5trap stage was outside because getting in was like a Disneyland ride wait. We spent most of our time at the Dreamstate stage AKA Caterpillar’s Garden and I was loving everything!
The Music & The Crowd
One of the things I was most excited for was the diverse lineup! I was pretty impressed that they had something for everyone again (as opposed to the last few years) and they booked some impressive acts such as Test Pilot, Cold Blue, Armin, Zhu, and Deadmau5. The crowd was also really friendly and I honestly had no issues or anything bad to say. We even traded some kandi which is a rarity these days! There were a ton of photographers early on who really wanted to capture the moments and that is always fun to go along with!
In conclusion, Beyond 2019 was a huge success and I’m already looking forward to next year! So happy I got to see familiar faces and can’t wait for EDC next! Let me know in the comments what your favorite part of Beyond was!
